The Institute was happy to receive the visit of Gracia Balezi Cito this summer. Gracia is a student at the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po Grenoble), passionate about economic development, particularly in the context of social and solidarity economy. Her enriching experience within the En Classe foundation in Kinshasa has reinforced her determination to contribute positively to society.

She holds a degree in sociology and social policies with a specialization in labor, organization and the market from the University of Lille, which allowed her to acquire an in-depth understanding of the social and economic dynamics that influence individuals and communities. Convinced that positive changes begin with education and sustainable development, she chose to pursue master’s studies in Development and Expertise in the Social and Solidarity Economy at Sciences Po Grenoble.

The social and solidarity economy is of particular interest to her, because it highlights essential values such as cooperation and solidarity, which play a crucial role in inclusive and sustainable economic development. Her research at HEC Montréal focuses on the study of democratic and participatory governance models of social economy organizations in the circular economy.

During her last year of master, Gracia wishes to continue her research on governance in the context of the social and solidarity economy.

Thank you for bringing your energy and help to the Institute, Gracia!
